Description

I'm so excited to have received such an amazing response from so many people about this costume. I really poured every ounce of effort I had and countless hours into its creation.
It premiered at Otakon 2014 were it took home the trophy for Best Costume at the journeyman level.

Costume: Falsetto - Eternal Sonata / Trusty Bell
Made/Modeled by Tori Colbrunn

This costume is impossible to wear for longer than an hour or so due to pure physical exhaustion. I can not lower my arms all the way and it is very heavy. On top of that the tails of the coat do not allow for anything but standing and in some killer heels! Regardless, this is my favorite costume to date and it makes me feel like a princess!

I have been working on writing up a walk-through of how I constructed this cosplay on my blog. The first of these posts is on the creation of the coat base and can be found [HERE]

Some fun specs on this costume: It took 4 yards of velvet, 2 yards of lycra, 7 yards of lace, 4 yards of heavy interfacing and various other materials including silk duponi, cotton sateen, mesh, leather and vinyl. I hand sewed over 20 feet of strung pearls onto 14 sleeve panes and each sleeve consists of 14 separate pieces! The giant bell, bracers and belt buckle are made from Worbla and Wonderflex and the inside of the coat tails are lined with pieces of Wonderflex as well.
I constructed 100% of this costume by hand in a period of about a month.

Thank you to Obscura Vista for this amazing shot!
